How to Read Your Knitting
Live 2-hour class with Karen des Jardins, KnitChats Coach
Saturday, May 18
12 - 2 PM Pacific / 3 - 5 PM Eastern
Ever put down your project and not sure where you left off or what to do next? Maybe it’s just been sitting dormant too long, or maybe there’s an unidentified mistake keeping the stitch count from resolving.
Reading your knitting effectively is all about learning to identify the clues in the stitches, and the tools available to take the mystery out of knowing where you are and what to do next. CYC certified knitting and crochet teacher, Knit Chats Coach and engineer, Karen des Jardins will guide you through your learning journey.
Skills required:
Knowledge of basic stitches: knit, purl, yo, k2tog, ssk
Skills learned:
Understanding how to count rows, determining location on pattern, using markers, charts and control sheets to track progress
Bring to class:
Using a smooth light colored yarn cast on 24 stitches and knit 8 rows of stockinette stitch, ending with a wrong side (purl) row.
Markers (at least 4)
Handout including printout of chart (supplied in advance)
The class will be recorded and links will be provided. The recordings will be available for one month after the end of the class.
