This is a knitter’s journey into lace knitting! Join Amy Odin, a certified CYA instructor and KnitChats coach, as she guides you through Michelle Hunter’s book “Building with lace” to create a gorgeous sampler shawl showcasing nine different lace patterns.

Beginning with a basic lace, each subsequent design will progress to cover techniques in a logical progression of skills. The sections include a variety of classic and original designs, and even some beading (optional). For each of the first nine classes, Amy will teach you how to work one block using your sample yarn. You will then complete each block between classes using your project yarn. The border will be taught in the tenth class along with instructions for blocking.

All of the techniques are supported by Michelle’s free online video demonstrations. She has included both written and charted instructions. To further aid the knitter, she has included an instructional section with each chart to build this important skill.

We are excited to offer a series of 1-hour classes to take you through Building With Lace. This live, virtual workshop* takes place over ten Saturdays, beginning February 7 and every first Saturday of the month through November 7, at 2:00 pm Eastern / 11:00 am Pacific time.

*Zoom sessions will be recorded and available for a limited time.
